Learning for Wellbeing
Communities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are set to benefit from National Lottery funding through the Big Lottery Fund.
The Big Lottery Fund is to provide funding for an innovative learning project in key communities throughout Cambridgeshire andPeterborough. The project, called ‘Learning for Wellbeing’, will deliver an exciting range of self-led informal learning opportunities that residents have asked for and said will greatly benefit them and their communities. This three year initiative will help residents to improve their personal skills and gain the confidence to participate more fully in activities in their own communities. The project will be run by the CP Learning Trust – a Cambridgeshire based charity with over 10 years experience of setting up and running community projects across Cambridgeshire andPeterborough.
CP Learning Trust will use its previous experience of working alongside communities on projects of this nature and run it together with them. Project activities will commence early in April this year and Development Workers from the Trust will be promoting the first local events in the near future. Anyone interested in helping or participating should contact the Trust.
CP Learning Trust’s Chief Executive,Roy Brown, said; “This is a fantastic opportunity for those communities we will be working with and we are grateful to the National Lottery for giving us this funding. We all know how under pressure local services are at the moment, so being able to provide this project will be a very welcome boost to the localities involved”.
CP Learning Trust has previously run successful projects setting up Learning Communities across the county. We involve adults in first step learning through fun activities which are designed to boost confidence and encourage participants to go on and equip themselves with the skills they need to be able to participate fully in work and social life.
